As part of an elite team, you will investigate, design and implement high-performance embedded media processing software for Avvasi's system-level products. Avvasi's Xperium platform is a scalable, carrier-grade platform for mobile video analytics and optimization planning services. It analyzes streaming media traffic in aggregate for large IP networks. The platform is a highly-available, managed, upgradable bladed system that houses a large amount of computing capacity. The software is architected to be high-performance, fault-tolerant, and linearly scalable. As a member of the Analytics team you will be taking a leadership role in driving development and testing of the Analytics Engine, a carrier-grade, scalable analytics platform and application. It collects and stores data, coming from Avvasi's network probes, related to mobile video traffic on service provider networks and enables service providers to perform business intelligence analysis on this data. The platform is a highly-available, managed, upgradable cluster housing large quantities of data (tens of Terabytes with significant growth rates) in an analytic database. Specific responsibilities include: - Ownership of analytics engine platform infrastructure and related OA&M components, including o Developing and testing management, configuration and administration features and capabilities, including monitoring and alarming, CLI and diagnostics, and maintenance tasks o Designing and testing for reliability and fault tolerance for hardware components and software processes, including detection, recovery and mitigation o Characterizing scalability and performance, such as cluster sizing, database dimensioning, as well as disk, CPU and memory requirements o Application and OS packaging and any pre- and post-installation scripting and configuration - Ownership of systems integration and testing for analytics engine team including o Build infrastructure o Integration with automated test environment o Test strategies and procedures for design verification of analytics engine o Feature, functional, regression, soak and performance testing, automating where appropriate o Developing and managing any related lab test networks o Locating, characterizing, reproducing, documenting and fixing bugs and customer issues - Daily interaction with product management and QA teams - Evaluate/select associated tools, technologies and frameworks Your level of responsibility will be shaped by your abilities, drive, and ambition. The candidate should have demonstrated experience taking features through the full project lifecycle for multiple projects including concept, requirements analysis, design, development, testing, productization, deployment and maintenance for a complex, distributed system in telecommunication production environments.
