Position Summary The Practice Lead, JDE Services, works closely with IT technical experts to provide production support and maintenance for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Purchasing (non-Stock), Fixed Assets and Service Billing modules of the JDE Finance Systems. The Practice Lead needs to develop and maintain an expert understanding of the JDE suite of applications. This position will support Mark’s Work Wearhouse and FGL Sports collaborative environments by working on cross functional strategic initiatives and providing a wide range of JDE financial solutions that integrate JDE with PMM and other systems. This position is unique in that the role requires both technical and business expertise and is the first point of contact when users identify both technical and business problems. The Practice Lead participates in major initiatives that are either initiated by Finance or in other business units of the Corporation where changes will impact the JDE Financial Systems. The Practice Lead, JDE Services is well versed in Project Management Methodology and required documentation. Responsibilities Requirement gathering and documentation Assist with requirements gathering discussions with a variety of audiences, including small user group discussions and collaborative technical workshops. Upon validation of user requirements produce accurate requirements documentation that is appropriate for the audience. Work with the team to continuously refine and update requirements and ensure requirement repositories are current and accurate throughout project and financial reporting lifecycles. Issue Resolution Provide assistance with and investigate problem resolution of client reported problems, generally on an ad hoc basis. Investigate & determine root cause of complex issues impacting the environment. Coordinate delivery of resolution with technical resources. Provide recommendations and support of best practices to stabilize the environment and prevent future occurrences. Validation, Testing and User Training Propose and recommend next steps in terms of validating requirements. Prepare test scripts to validate results. For significant projects, assists QA team in testing new JDE features. Facilitate end user training sessions to enhance use of the application. Provide SME expertise Proactively understand industry trends and external issues that impact CTC’s internal processes and technology. Evaluate new system functionality and associated capabilities. Support with ascertaining a recommendation to management for solution alternatives and timing of capability adoption. Identify options to reduce cost, improve efficiency & increase employee productivity via functionality/technical change. Support the managing of conflicting requirement priorities. Compliance Significant participation in the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) initiative. Support and participate in financial audits where required. Evaluate all compliance requirements for the application and recommend process improvements. Miscellaneous Ad-hoc analysis of various JDE information as directed by management. Build and update Ad-hoc models and reports. Provide cross train assistance in all areas of the finance department on JDE functionality. Produce relevant process documentation. Support PMM AP configuration testing, data extracts and reporting. Required Skills and Experience • 7 - 10 years of experience working with and supporting the JDE Enterprise One World application. • 5 years of experience working in a large retail corporation with a solid understanding of retail financial practices. • JDE One World XE expertise, specifically in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Purchasing (non Stock), Fixed Assets and Service Billing modules. • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience for large-scale ERP systems. • Must have strong understanding of software development process from design, requirements gathering, analysis, deployment, testing methodologies, training, change management and production support. • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to facilitate group requirements gathering sessions and discussing solutions with individuals throughout the organization. • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required to trace problems from end to end. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. • Strong financial and systems background in JDE to present cost effective solutions for multiple location reporting. • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of an organization from executive to technical personnel. • Experience generating design specifications documentation to communicate with business and development resources. • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, and estimate and plan timelines and milestones. • Ability to think and work independently. • Experience and understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). • Ability to maintain a business perspective in the establishment of project priorities. • SQL and scripting expertise • JDA – PMM and /or IBM AS/400 knowledge is an asset • Business experience with MS Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project).
