Job Summary Reporting directly to the Manager, IT QA and Testing, the Lead QA Analyst will work closely with 3rd party QA coordinator and lead the QA analyst team. The Leader QA Analyst will provide expertise and define QA methodologies and standards. They will ensure QA environments are properly documented and maintained; monitor progress on tasks against plan, report status to the QA Manager on project issues and monitor application systems for potential errors/problems. They will review and assist with estimates for assigned tasks and provide user/system support for new and existing systems Responsibilities • Define QA methodologies and standards and maintain the SDLC testing documentation. • Follow and adhere to the IT SDLC framework and get the QA team to adhere to it. • Review and signoff on QA related specifications documents. • Provide QA expertise. • Create liaisons between the different teams at FGL and ensure smooth communications between teams. • Provide assistance in estimating and scoping deliverables. • Provide leadership and guidance to QA. • Ensure QA deliverables meet QA standards. • Oversee 3rd vendor to provide QA resources for projects/steady state. • Provide feedback on QA performance, effectiveness and quality of deliverables. • Provide QA third level support to the 3rd vendor and act as the second point of escalation. • Work with and assist remote team offshore. • Review QA estimates. • Support QA analyst’s team in their daily testing activities and assist in the resolution of testing issues, bugs and risks • Represent QA in different status meetings. • Inform QA Manager of test result status, quality of code at any given time, critical issues, personnel conflicts affecting projects, etc. • Help coordinate project deliverables and resolve issues, identify dependencies and remove roadblocks. • Assist functional and end-user acceptance testing. • Oversee training for new resources/on-going training of current resources. • Provide production support assistance. • Ensure the QA environments are documented and well maintained. • Make sure the QA environments are setup/configured properly and that QA deliveries are coordinated. • Ensure products delivered and released to the business are of the utmost quality. • Plan, develop and execute project testing activities • Define and maintain test plan based on the business requirements for assigned projects • Design, implement and execute test scenarios and test cases in order to validate and verify requirement specifications. • Maintain procedures and process flow for testing, bug logs, enhancement announcements and code promotes. • Document validation results and report status to appropriate staff on project issues. • Perform system set-ups/configuration/file downloads for implementation/conversions and perform other related tasks • Execute software tests to validate feature, performance and quality. • Perform regression testing of fixed defects. • Perform production smoke tests. • Document discrepancies and ensure that software defects have been identified, tracked and resolved. Required Skills and Experience • 10+ years of experience • Management/Leadership experience • Experience in planning, developing and executing Test Plans and Test Procedures an coordinating the collection of test results • Experience working in a multi-project environment • An understanding of the system development life cycle • Strong analytical skills • Ability to assimilate, analyze and facilitate information sharing • Proficient using MS Office 97 (Word & Excel). • Must be able to define what a testable requirement is and demonstrate ability to create them. • Demonstrated ability to determine the source of a problem. • Detail oriented, thorough, methodical and persistent. • Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal communications. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent organizational and planning skills. • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team environment. • Experience interpreting requirements and generating test cases and scenarios. • Willingness to follow strict documentation and process standards. • Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal communications. • Demonstrated ability to multitask successfully. • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills Desired behaviors • Builds Trust and Credibility by consistently adhering to the organization’s business principles and values. Academic / Educational requirements • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the IT industry, specifically, as part of a team responsible for delivering software quality assurance to IT projects.
