Protecode has a position for a network support specialist. We have many critical systems that are maintained and supported internally. The network support specialist is required to maintain and support systems and/or infrastructure, analyze, develop and implement technical solutions which will improve services. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors systems and services ensuring availability and complete security. Provides desktop support for 20+ users. Audits and manages software licenses, server software installations (Windows and Linux), and IT security issues for the entire enterprise. Independently assesses IT problem reports and implements solutions. Regularly communicates progress and issues to management. Responsible for hardware and software costing, planning, purchasing, and maintenance. Manage system backups and disaster recovery plan. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Sufficient equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of college/university education. 5+ years of related work experience. Experience deploying\managing enterprise VOIP phone system. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft environments is essential. Demonstrated advanced level Linux administration including performance tuning and security hardening. Firm understanding of layer 2 and 3 networks, and experience configuring firewalls (Cisco) and switches. Understanding of and configuration experience with IPSEC and L2TP VPNs. Experience managing enterprise database system (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred). Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) and Microsoft (MCTS or MCITP) certifications are an asset.
