Our client, a successful 10-year old SaaS software company in the network performance management space, has an immediate opening for a senior QA engineer. This role involves being a senior team member with demonstrated knowledge of software testing and software QA processes. It calls for someone with extensive experience designing, writing and running test strategies, plans and cases. It also requires extensive functional, regression, black box and smoke testing experience coupled with strong leadership qualities. The office is centrally located in Vancouver near all major transit options. As a key member of the QA team you will play the role of quarterback. The QA and development team will look to you for direction and expect you to set priorities and assign tasks to each member of the QA team, including yourself. You will be actively involved in testing, test case creation and troubleshooting. There are also junior members of the team and interns that you will have to guide and mentor. This is a fun, fast-paced Agile environment where sprints are two months long with a new one beginning every month. QA and development participate in the same scrums and work very closely and harmoniously together. The team deals with all aspects of QA within the company. Apart from the key web components of the software, the company provides each customer with hardware micro-appliances which also require black box testing. The kinds of testing that are required and which you need to have experience with are: - Functional (Manual and Automated) - Regression - Black Box - Smoke The Experience We?re Looking For: - Understanding and ability to apply technical and business requirements to test case development - Proficiency with test tools such as Selenium (preferred) or Silk, Rational etc. - A programming background Java (preferred) or other languages - Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues - Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) - Experience with SQL and/or Bash scripting - Experience with a web-based bug tracking tool such as Jira (preferred) or FogBugz, WoodpeckerIT etc. - Strong systems and critical thinking skills - Strong ability to multi-task and balance project work - A proven ability to work in a team environment - Quality minded - a high attention to detail while producing quality work in a timely manner - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Experience in and exposure to a mixed Microsoft and Unix environment - Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or equivalent education - Someone interested in the networking space .aioe{position:absolute;clip:rect(471px,auto,auto,471px);} Apply here payday loans
