Purpose of Position: As a member of the Information Services - Business Systems Team, the Business Systems Developer is responsible for the development/support of custom business systems, ERP system modifications, report development and integration solutions used by Manufacturing and all support groups within the organization. Principal Accountabilities: ? Responsible for the implementation and support of custom Business Systems used by Manufacturing and all support groups within the organization. ? Responsible for the implementation and support of robust integration solutions between Business Systems. ? Perform updates and/or upgrades to custom Business Systems and supporting information technologies. ? Execute and/or mange the Information Services administrative functions within custom Business Systems and supporting technologies. ? Responsible for creating, maintaining and sharing a custom code library of functions, business logic, queries, etc. ? Prepare and execute unit and integration testing of custom Business Systems and Integration Solutions. ? Support the Business Systems Analyst in the design and implementation of extended functionality within existing custom Business Systems. ? Support the Business Systems Analyst in the design of comprehensive functional specifications to meet new business requirements and/or objectives. ? Assist the Business Systems Analyst and/or Business Systems Administrator with data conversion needs and requirements. ? Responsible, as part of a tiered support team, to provide support of custom Business Systems. ? Accountable for managing projects including securing required project resources, setting and meeting project timelines, arranging meetings and monitoring/reporting progress. ? Assist user groups with the creation of Area Work Instructions that support custom Business Systems. ? Create and maintain all documentation in area of responsibility in accordance with the requirements defined for the Information Services Documentation System. ? Define the support of current/future custom Business Systems to provide optimum business value. ? Knowledge and Skill Requirements: ? University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience in Information Technology. ? 2 years minimum experience in the Principal Accountabilities described above. ? Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and PC Operating Systems. ? Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows networks and network communications. ? Advanced understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts. ? Advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL Server. A MCTS: SQL Server certification a definite asset. ? Experience in the development of custom Business Systems in a Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Office (Excel) environment. ? Experience in VB.NET and C++ (or comparable programming languages) required, X++ preferred ? Development experience in a Microsoft Dynamics AX environment preferred ? Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and SQL Integration Services a definite asset. ? Excellent organization, planning, communication and interpersonal skills required. ? Experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment an asset. ? Strong team player skills are required for this position. ? Understanding and knowledge in the Theory of Constraints is helpful. Work Environment: This position involves working on multiple projects/tasks with tight deadlines. Due to the evolving nature of technology, training and/or continued education may be required to function effectively in this role. As a member of the Information Services team you may be required to work off-hours and/or after-hours in support of our manufacturing operations. Every attempt will be made to minimize this.
