Report Writer 7o ? 80K Description The position of BI/report writer will communicate, understand, translate and deliver BI and reports requests to our customer base. You will create and maintain BI and reports using MS Reporting Tools and Crystal as well as work with the database to create stored procedures, functions and views. The job requires interfacing with customers and internal groups for the purpose of understanding and documenting requirements, suggesting solutions, troubleshooting problems and supporting business BI and reporting needs. Qualifications Post-secondary education - Technology degree preferred SQL Business Intelligence tools -Advanced SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) SQL Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Integrated Services (SSIS) Advanced Crystal Report development experience Advanced Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL experience Broad-based understanding of accounting procedures Broad-based understanding of Forest Products Manufacturing industry preferred Experience with Dynamics GP and asset Competencies Skills Expert analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to trace report performance issues to root cause Must be an excellent communicator who is detail oriented Ability to communicate technical and business information to widely varied audiences High level of initiative to contribute ideas while working in a team environment The ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment Tasks/Duties Duties include optimizing or fine tuning slow running reports. Reconciling discrepancies between the expectations of data managers and information presented in their reports Work with customers, implementers & developers to gather specifications for data and report requirements Develop SQL queries to extract, manipulate and/or calculate information to fulfill data, BI and reporting requirements Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company?s products through continuous study and experience.
