POSITION OVERVIEW JOB TITLE: Local Product Manager REPORTS TO: Domestic Product Line Manager DEPARTMENT: Products & Solution LOCATION: Markham JOB SUMMARY: The Local Product Manager is responsible for a portfolio of smart-card based payment products for use in the banking environment, such as payment transaction and secure authentication solutions for the use of banking services. The objective is to define and implement a portfolio for local use. As part of the product definition of the product line, coordination activities with the appropriate contact persons for the relevant markets or countries must be carried out in order to define a competitive overall product portfolio. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Defining the product portfolio for payment products and corresponding value chains. Aligning the portfolio to the strategy directives and implementing it in accordance with the product lifecycle model (PLM). Aligning the activities to the relevant departments, divisions, and international units. ? Responsibility for product definition, ordering production development activities, and overall project management of these activities. Generate and review requirements specification and functional specification documents in order to enable production. ? Continually carrying out competitor analyses, with the focus on the assessment of the product portfolio, market analyses, and the systematic determination of customer requirements and market trends. ? Carrying out and coordinating the annual R&D plans in the area of responsibility. Handling short-term product requests and other product requests occurring within the course of the year, and prioritizing them appropriately. Coordinating activities with the other departments and divisions. ? Generating business cases and sales models. Reconciling market figures with internal and external bodies. ? Assisting in the formation and acquisition of new activity areas. Generating and implementing new product ideas. ? Managing intellectual property rights and patents relevant to the area of responsibility. Recognizing new applications for IP or patent protection relevant to the product field. ? Generating technical and sales-related or sales support documentation, in particular the roadmap, product catalog, and presentations. Steering and coordinating the market image and presence. ? Conducting internal training courses and presentations for customers and if necessary at external events. ? Sales support, including support for responses to RFTs and project management support in the pre-sales phase. ? Positioning as a technical contact person with respect to customers, including building up a network of contacts and representing the interests of the company with respect to external committees or external parties. ? Responsible for the entire client specific product portfolio. Make decisions on the on the basis of suitable decision documents in cooperation with the management team in the corresponding decision committees, such as the Product Steering Team (PSG). ? Responsible for the complete product life cycle and a market-compliant portfolio. He/she demonstrates the success of the product line on the basis of a business case. ? Manages client product line by collaborating closely with the product management department, and in particular with the Product Lines and Derivatives team. ? Guideline authority for specifying the price models and the price structure. ? In the case of products requiring approval by external authorities, the Local Product Manager initiates and manages the corresponding approval processes or extensions. ? Responsible for the provision of the products, the internal and external documentation of the products, and any tools as may be necessary, including coordination with the production department with regard to the manufacturing options for these products. Ensures the availability of the necessary technical expertise at the relevant sites. ? Represents the specific products internally as a representative of the division and represents the company externally with respect to customers and partners. ? Represents the company in suitable committees, working groups and special-interest associations, as well as at congresses and other events. PRIMARY INTERFACES: ? Sales, tender management ?
