Reporting to the Team Lead, Systems Engineering, the Senior Linux/VMware Administrator will work as a member of the server and storage support team. The key role is to working on the deployment, monitoring and administration of VMware environment running Linux virtual guests within the server infrastructure and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements. Excellent customer focus and client service skills, a proven ability to function in both individual and team environments, and exceptional technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are essential. As a Senior Linux/VMware Administrator, responsibilities will also include Performance Monitoring and Architecture design and review. Mandatory Requirements *Related degree/diploma/certification with 5 years IT industry experience. Equivalencies considered *Demonstrated industry experience working as a Linux administrator *Experience installing and supporting Redhat/SUSE Linux as a system administrator *Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting VMware ESX 4 operating system. *Experience configuring Linux virtual guests in a VMware ESX environment *Working level knowledge of applicable programming and scripting languages. *Must be able to participate in a 7/24/365 on-call rotation *Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during change windows outside of normal business hours *Experience functioning on an individual basis *Experience functioning in a team/group environment Desirable Requirements *Demonstrated experience using a server OS deployment tool *Experience installing and supporting SAN switches and storage sub-systems *Experience installing and supporting Windows 2003 or 2008 as a system administrator *Demonstrated experience installing and supporting one or more of Server Blades in an HP C-class Enclosure, HP Proliant server or IBM xSeries hardware platforms.
