Reporting to the Team Lead, Systems Engineering; the Senior Linux/Windows System Administrator will work as a member of the server and storage support team.
The key role is to working on the deployment, monitoring and administration of Linux and Windows environment within the server infrastructure and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements. Excellent customer focus and client service skills, a proven ability to function in both individual and team environments, and exceptional technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are essential. As a Senior Linux/Windows Administrator, responsibilities will also include Performance Monitoring and Architecture design and review.
Deliverables
Deliverables may include some or all of the following, in accordance with service level agreements:
o Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution
o Perform new hardware and OS installations and upgrades
o Monitor performance and availability of physical and virtual systems
o Plan for software and hardware upgrades
o Develop and maintain documentation;
o Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software
o Develop system related procedures.

Mandatory Requirements
o Related degree/diploma/certification with 5 years IT industry experience. Equivalencies considered
o Demonstrated industry experience working as a System Administrator managing 50+ physical servers with fibre-channel storage arrays
o Demonstrated experience installing and supporting Redhat/SUSE Enterprise Linux
o Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or later
o Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later
o Working level knowledge of applicable programming and scripting languages.
o Must be able to participate in a 7/24/365 on-call rotation
o Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during change windows outside of normal business hours
o Experience functioning on an individual basis
o Experience functioning in a team/group environment
Desirable Requirements
o Demonstrated experience using a server OS deployment tool
o Experience installing and supporting SAN switches and storage sub-systems
o Experience configuring Linux and Windows virtual guests in a VMware ESX environment
o Demonstrated experience installing and supporting servers in enterprise-class data centre
