Intermediate to Senior iSeries Developer/Systems Support Analyst Role Overview Within the corporate ERP environment utilizing Oracle EnterpriseOne software (formerly JD Edwards OneWorld) integrated with several other 3rd party packages which runs predominantly on AS/400 and SQL server platforms the Developer/Systems Support Analyst?s role is to define, develop, test, analyze and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. The Developer/Systems Support Analyst will also research, design, document and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Through the course of performing these duties, the Developer/Systems Support Analyst will also be required to work with help desk and other technical staff to support a variety of existing applications. Key Results ? Assigned projects and tasks completed on schedule ? All issues discussed with team members and/or team leader to ensure complete solution is implemented that won?t adversely affect other computer systems ? All projects / development activity designed, development, tested and documented to department standards ? Resolutions are delivered to help desk / client issues quickly, accurately and effectively. All parties involved understand both the problem and the resolution. ? ?Quick fixes? are avoided where possible / practical and instead develops ?quality fixes? that correct the full issue, not just the immediate problem. ? Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe work environment of themselves, fellow employees, customers, vendors and other partners. ? Provide after hours / on call support as required ? Calgary City Police Check Required. Candidate Profile Education ? Bachelor?s Degree or College Diploma from an accredited university or college in the field of Computer Science or a Business Management Program with a minor in computer studies. Application development must be a major focus. ? Special consideration given to candidates with additional training in the following: ? Bottomline Formscape or similar document management / document processing applications ? SoftwareAG WebMethods Integration Server ? Oracle Enterprise One (formerly JD Edwards OneWorld) Development Tools ? JAVA, C, SQL ? iSeries (AS/400) application development and/or systems support Experience Must Have ? 5 to 7 years of practical experience developing and supporting application solutions in and enterprise environment. ? At least 3 years of practical problem solving and development experience either; ? SoftwareAG WebMethods Integration Server supporting multidirectional e-commerce transactional activities ? or Bottomline Formscape/Transform suite of products supporting document manipulation and distribution preferably in Order 2 Cash (O2C) and/or Procure 2 Pay (P2P) data streams. Experience in both will strongly increase candidate?s chance to be considered for the job ? Practical experience with data integrity maintenance of heterogeneous databases ? Manipulation of data with SQL and/or other query tools in a large relational database environment. ? Proven ability to design, develop, debug, document and test enterprise software solutions. ? Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop environment (Windows 7, MS Office, MS Outlook etc) Nice to Have ? Practical development experience using Oracle Enterprise One development tools ? Practical development experience in an IBM iSeries (AS/400) Development environment (RPG4, SQL, DB2 etc). ? Experience with Enterprise Reporting packages such as Cognos, Crystal Reports etc ? Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry and/or Distribution Industry ? Knowledge of general business systems (General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing etc) ? Development experience with 4th Generation Object Oriented languages Critical Behaviors ? Deliver resolutions to help desk / client issues quickly, accurately and effectively. Focus given to ensuring that all parties involved understand both the problem and the resolution. ? Effectively liaise with other members of the IT Department, the Client community, 3rd party solution providers and external contractors as required. ? Successful management of system support requirements and maintaining the development needs as they come up. ? On Call/After Hours calls are handled and/or returned within an efficient period of time to ensure matters are resolved.
