The individual who fills this role will: Take responsibility for the installation and integration of IT based physical security systems ensuring timelines are met and a quality solution is delivered. Have an open and eager attitude for developing skills towards applications that the candidate may have limited experience with. This is a position with a fluid technology learning curve; it is imperative that the applicant has the ability to take a positive approach and fully support the learning of new technologies, applications and methods. Research, prototype and develop integration between the components of physical and logical security systems. Be responsive, supportive, and available to security field technicians while supporting and mentoring their learning and growth in the IT field. Be organized, enthusiastic and take direction from the General Branch Manager. Develop and maintain client relationships while building confidence and respect in the organization’s abilities throughout the industry. Support sales efforts in specifying IT components and the PMO in planning deployments. Demonstrate the ability to lead technical projects, design discussions, and project teams. Provide support for Access Control and Video Surveillance applications. Prepare and maintain documentation in an efficient and professional manner. Support sales activities and the growth of business providing the ability to identify with new product and profitable opportunities. Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with proven experience in designing, deploying and supporting complex systems. Post-secondary education in Engineering or Information Technology. Experience with the following technologies is an asset: Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Windows XP/7, basic MS SQL administration tasks, IP networks, routers/switches, backup concepts and logical security. Experience with the following technologies is an asset: Virtualization, clustering, fault tolerant systems, modern development and scripting languages, advanced MS SQL administration tasks including reporting, SAN/WAN architectures, Oracle, HTML, JavaScript, XML, Crystal Reports and fiber architecture. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, ability to write technical specifications. Sound organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks/multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, priority- changing environment. Strong analytical and problems solving skills are essential. Willingness to mentor and build the technical abilities of the organization. Ability to clear advanced Police Security screenings is a necessity.
