We are currently looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Product Development team.  This position will be responsible for building and supporting the Halogen suite of web-based software solutions.  The successful candidate will be a strong coder with excellent design skills. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the main responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to the following: Participate in early stage concept meetings to determine requirements Preparation and review of design specifications Application development/coding Conduct and participate in design and code reviews Application unit testing and support Resolve escalated software development issues Mentor more junior members of the team Stay current in the field of software development and new programming platforms, tools and languages REQUIREMENTS: Degree/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent Minimum six years of experience developing web-based applications with Java/J2EE Knowledge of Java Servlets, JSP, HTML, Javascript, SQL, and XML is required Java Programmer Certification (Sun) is a strong asset Experience/demonstrated knowledge with the following: Apache Tomcat or JBoss Databases – particularly Oracle and SQL Server Eclipse or similar IDE UNIX operating systems skills an asset AJAX, Spring Framework, ExtJS, Web Services, and UML an asset Experience in developing mobile applications/websites is also an asset Self starter, with proven diagnostic, analytical and problem solving skills; demonstrated attention to detail Very good written and oral communication skills Join our Talent Community!
