Deliver application solutions that satisfy business and other stakeholder needs and assist in their implementation as needed. Responsibilities • Provide leadership in interpreting business goals and objectives into deliverables for the IT solution teams. • Identify unstated or requirement gaps and help elicit those requirements that are important in moving the solution forward. • Specify and recommend solutions that are optimal and that are aligned with current and future enterprise architecture. • Work with project managers on risk assessment, work breakdown and project planning. • Lead prototyping activities when necessary to determine solution feasibility. • Work with other architects and senior developers to refine solution components and assist with estimation. • Work with business analysts and development teams to align solutions to functional and technical specifications. • Work with test teams on test strategies and test planning and assist with testing issues. • Work with functional and program managers on matters relating to tactical and strategic implementation as well as solution and project dependencies. • Become familiar with current business systems and existing solution capabilities and constraints. • Act as champion for the solution and provide assistance and support as required to ensure solution integrity throughout all stages of the SDLC, including evolving the solution as necessary. • Help advance the architecture practice and mentor other architects and senior developers. • Aid in the development of application and technology roadmaps. Required Knowledge: • Knowledge of architectural modeling, documentation and the development lifecycle. • Knowledgeable in current and emerging technologies in IT particularly around integration and application development • Experience in several facets of solution delivery including requirements, systems analysis, design development, quality assurance, application migration and upgrades • Solid knowledge of both traditional waterfall and Agile project methodologies. • Practical knowledge and experience working with Agile roles and artifacts, and Scrum processes. • 8+ years industry experience in the development and integration of enterprise applications. • 5+ years industry experience with system analysis, development, integration or architecture at the enterprise level. • Working knowledge of web, Windows, Unix, Oracle, application development, and integration technologies. • Experience in team facilitation, collaboration and documentation • Knowledge of various retail business applications, including supply chain, inventory, merchandise, warehouse, reporting, point of sale, customer management and financial systems would be an asset. • Team oriented, with excellent written, oral and presentation skills are a must. • Able to think both tactically and strategically, and to communicate ideas in a way that will facilitate development of the optimal solution. • Able to display leadership in creating a shared vision among all stakeholders that will support a collaborative, team-based approach towards successful delivery of solutions.
