The International Banking Systems (IBS) group supports the automation of branches and subsidiaries in Caribbean, Central and South America, and Asia Pacific.  Multiple platforms are used, including IBM AS/400’s running the ScotiaGlobe core Retail Banking system and the International Banking Platform (Branch Sales and Teller Platform) applications running on Windows platform. The IBS Electronic Card Services & Solutions department supports the 24/7 ScotiaGlobe Retail Banking Applications, ATM &POS Applications,  Network Switching Technology, POSH, ATM Web, ConCenter, Mobile Banking and Debit Card Technology  written in RPG400, C/C++, Java and the Cyptographic Security software & hardware.. You will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the ATM/POS Network Switching applications running on the AIX and Windows platforms. You are proactive and dynamic individual, with demonstrated initiative, and have an eagerness to learn, and thrive on challenge. Accountabilities     Participate and provide technical leadership in the development, maintenance and support of the Core Banking Applications and Interface Applications.     Participate in the production of design and system specifications to translate user requirements into business solutions by assisting in the definition of systems architecture specifications, data flows, systems and data integration and application compatibility with existing systems.     Participate and/or lead in the design, development, and testing within the AIX and other's development environments (ie.  AIX Switching Technology, ConCenter, POSH Server, AIX DB2 reporting).     Participate and/or lead in the preparation of design document, test plan/strategy, tests specifications and operations manuals.     Participate in the evaluation of production logs and System Service Requests (SSRs) of high complexity and identifies actions to be taken to accomplish successful resolutions to problem logs and deployment of new enhancements to the field. .     Liaison with external vendors, product users, operations staff, technical support groups and other development teams in all phases of development project activities and production support activities.     Provide production support to International Data Centre and Service Center including daytime and after hours pager supports on rotation roster and occasional travel for release implementation and on site production support. Competencies     A minimum of 3 years experience in relevant experience such as EFT industry or banking/financial sectors.     Proficient in UNIX shell scripting, Perl, PHP, C/C++, JAVA, UNIX Operating System, DB2, and SQL.     Knowledge of ASP, ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET) and iNet Crystal Report Engine would be an asset     Knowledge of Communication protocol TCP/IP and IBM MQ Series Messaging would be an asset.     Knowledge of Cryptographic functions, Web Development Tools would be an asset.     Knowledge of Banking products and systems would be an asset.     Self-starter, fast learner with positive attitude and Team player.     Existing and proven strong analytical, problem resolution skills and able to work under pressure.     Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure     Strong verbal and written communication skills.     Good interpersonal and team liaison skills.     Strong project management skills, able to multi-task and manage concurrent projects.
