You will mainly responsible for the availability of all International Banking (IB) QAT environments.  This includes maintain, monitor and report on the availability of all IB QAT environments. You will also responsible for Q-Track, the department’s request intake system, to ensure requests are evaluated, assigned, scheduled and tracked.  You will manage the assigned team to ensure departmental objectives are met, advice management on technical and procedural issues in IB QAT environment and IBS projects; provide support to users to ensure QAT environments are available and able to meet the IBS project’s testing requirements. You have extensive project management skills and technical knowledge to contribute to the success of all the projects assigned. Accountabilities ·         Accountable for availability of all IB QAT environments.  Daily monitoring and reporting of the health of the environments and any issues.  Resolve problems in a timely manner to minimise impact to the environments’ availability.  Maintain and improve automation of availability management tools regularly.  Meet availability targets consistently. ·         Responsible management of Q-Track, the department’s intake system, to ensure user requests are reviewed, assigned, scheduled and processed in a timely manner.  Resolve conflicting requests as necessary to adhere to IBS project priorities. ·         Evaluate the QAT environment infrastructure and processing requirements regularly.  Keep current of available hardware and software technology, as well as all the IBS applications.  Stay in tune to the industry's technical direction, and taps into IB business directions.  This awareness of the total picture is necessary for the incumbent to advise management on technical and procedural related issues. ·         Direct and guide one of the technical teams within IBSS QAT area.   Set technical direction, coach, assign workload, manage schedules, prepare and give annual performance appraisals, determine training and developmental needs, and liaison between management and team to achieve management objectives.  Must ensure the team delivers quality products and services in a timely manner. ·         Must provide strong leadership to motivate top performance from each individual as well as the team.  Must be able to listen, negotiate and communicate with staff to achieve set goals, and to share knowledge, experience and responsibility to build an environment that encourages personal and professional growth in the team. ·         Continuously review and identify improvement opportunities for team efficiency and effectiveness. ·         Review planned activities for future initiatives, participate in forward-planning sessions and identify/ resolve conflicts between initiatives. ·         Troubleshoot when problems arise and contribute to their resolution in a hands-on manner when necessary. Competencies ·         University/College degree in Computer Science, or Minimum 5 to 7 years experience ·         Excellent communication and leadership skills to address issues with QA Testing and other department staff who have varying degrees of experience and technological knowledge ·         Excellent leadership, project management, coaching, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills ·         Thorough understanding of the QAT AS400/FE environment including AS400/FE hardware, system and application software ·         Expert understanding of UAT standards and methodology ·         Complete understanding of multiple UAT environments and their relationship to code delivery and business functions ·         Strong analytical, forward thinking, decision making and organizational skills to achieve the environments’ availability targets, manage the allocation of limited resources and to resolve conflicts for multiple projects ·         Technical skills and vision to maintain and improve the automation tools for availability management and reporting. ·         Strong working knowledge of PC's, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, Test Information Management, Problem Log Management System, and database packages.   Scotiabank is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all interested parties.
