Reporting to the Sr. Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the technical projects and activities associated with the Collection Systems and Collection business operating needs of numerous International Banking Departments and Country operating groups (e.g. Shared Services, Credit Risk Management and CRCUs). You will be responsible for working with a project team on all technical related activities to ensure that all assigned projects are thoroughly, accurately and timely completed while at the same time providing a valuable and consistent experience for the customer. These activities may include detailed documentation of requirements for systems changes, detailed review and documentation of process work flows, instructions to users (i.e., manual updates, job aids, circulars, etc.), Development life cycle activities to ensure system requirements are realized, assisting with implementation, assisting with testing requirements and transition to the maintenance function. The incumbent will interact with management within service, product, development, research and review and delivery areas in the execution of projects. You will also provide a high level of professional service to customers (both internal and external) consistent with ScotiaService standards and procedures.  The position involves working closely together with teams of resources from several different departments and countries in the Caribbean, Central American and Latin America. Accountabilities : ·         Maintain an understanding of the business direction of assigned businesses and implement enhancements or changes that may be necessary to the hardware or software architecture to meet the business needs. ·         Analyse user requirements taking into consideration interfaces with other systems, as well as hardware and software limitations and develop alternative options to satisfy user requirements. ·         Identify prerequisites and/or dependencies for the successful implementation of the project. ·         Maintain knowledge of current and future trends, best practices in IT solutions (hardware/software/vendor packages) for assigned hardware and software platforms. ·         Analyse operational, systems management and testing needs and identifies hardware and software alternatives to satisfy user requirements. ·         Assist with the preparation of feasibility documents. ·         Assess the plans or designs of team members to ensure the recommended plan or design achieves the appropriate balance between cost, re-use, ongoing maintenance, operability and scalability. ·         Design implementation, migration and interface strategies within assigned hardware and software platforms and/or projects to facilitate conformance to bank technology architecture. Competencies : ·         Strong technical, communication and project management skills are essential.  Prior technical systems experience supporting Collection Systems, Predictive Dialer, PBX and IVR technology is preferred. ·         Fluency in both English and Spanish languages is desired. ·         Relevant degree and proven IT experience with emphasis on all aspects of the systems software life cycle. ·         Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills ·         Extensive AS400 \ WEB Technical Software Development & Support (minimum 5 years) experience, preferably supporting Collections ·         OS400 \ AIX \ WINTEL W2K \ XP \ WebSphere Operating System\Software knowledge ·         Prior experience \ knowledge of Collection System (Debt Manager), Predictive Dialer (Aspect) and PBX (CISCO, AVAYA) ·         Capability to program in CL, RPG, Java and .Net Education requirement: ·         University or College degree with Computer Sciences major Additional information: The position involves providing production support for the International CRCUs.  The position requires overtime as required and involves carrying a pager.
