POSITION SCOPE: Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering you will work with a world class technology team and be responsible for the development of architecture specifications, application partitioning, object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance, and implementation support. You will also have the opportunity to play a key part in the planning and decision making of new product design and development. The Developer role is a demanding, highly dynamic, and technically challenging position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with development of new releases and support existing releases of client?s Systems. Investigate and resolve system issues, especially in the areas of scalability, and performance; investigate/diagnose customer emergencies; formulate workarounds. Design, implement and unit test code to enhance existing features or extend functionality of client?s products. Fix software defects in released Collateral Valuation Systems and participate in product testing. Respond to requests for information on product architecture, design and behavior from Customer Support. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 5 - 7+ years experience Java programming language in similar position. Experience in all stages of the software development life cycle. Solid object-oriented design, programming techniques, SOA models and Agile Methodology. J2EE skills (JSF/JSP, Servlets, Java Persistence, JDBC, Java Security API, Java XML API, Web Services). Experience in using Development tools such as Netbeans IDE/ Sun Java Studio / Jbuilder MySQL/Oracle/MSSQL. Experience in Open source Framework such as Hibernate, Log4J, OSWorkflow, Quartz. Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix environment. Knowledge of UML concepts. Strong understanding of web based systems development. Mortgage/Insurance/Financial industry experience is desirable. Solid interpersonal skills and be resourceful in order to help manage the software development process. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
