POSITION SUMMARY: Strategic Support Technology has the mandate to support continuous improvement initiatives through process reengineering supported by the introduction of new technology and management reporting.  The Technology Operations team is looking for a dynamic individual who can design, develop, implement, and support solutions using standard software development methodologies. Primary responsibility is application maintenance and support to facilitate small scale business process improvement opportunities.  The development platform ranges across different technologies including Microsoft based development tools and products like SQL Server, .NET, SharePoint, Microsoft Office as well as other non-Microsoft tools such as Lotus Notes, Business Objects, and a set of tools that will enable the use of the Bank’s common reusable components.  The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of Object Oriented analysis techniques and be able to participate in requirements gathering and Agile Sprint planning sessions.  The incumbent must be comfortable with contributing to the building of multiple releases of incremental functionality in accordance with the Agile methodology adopted by the Shared Services Group.  In addition the incumbent must work toward the longer term vision for the Shared Services Group and the technology that supports that vision. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: ·         Work with Senior Programmer Analysts and Business System Analysts to create and/or enhance systems through appropriate system design practices.  Leverage business requirements, process design, and system design to build solutions while taking into account the overall software development methodologies of the team. ·         Work with Senior Programmer Analysts to assess development approaches and best practices in accordance with evolving technical standards adopted by the team. ·         Actively participate in the research of tool sets and design patterns that allow the group to deliver new technology.  Actively pursue a training program and contribute to knowledge transfer in conjunction with the development and maintenance of systems built on new technology. Provide 3rd level and systems maintenance support for production applications.  The incumbent may be expected to carry a pager and provide off-hours support for specified applications.  Maintain an open dialogue with end users, track and update all problem logs in accordance with team policies and within SLA commitments. QUALIFICATIONS: ·         Experience developing and supporting web-based applications (.NET Framework 3.5+, C#, MVC2, JavaScript/JQuery) ·         Experience with Visual Studio 2008/2010, SQL Server 2005/2008, SharePoint, and Team Foundation Server ·         Experience with IIS 6.0+, and Windows Server 2003+ ·         Ability to apply software engineering practices (i.e. requirements analysis, design, development, and testing) in the delivery of technology solutions to support our business partners ·         Knowledge and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment ·         Experience with automated unit testing is an asset ·         Excellent written and oral communication skills. EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS: A degree in a computer science or math related discipline is desirable.
