British Columbia. Supplying over 20 countries worldwide, and
headquartered in coastal BC, the company currently has eight sawmills
and four remanufacturing plants. WFP activities include timber harvesting, reforestation, lumber and wood chip production, and value-added remanufacturing. About the Opportunity
Western Forest Products has an exciting opportunity available for an AS400/RPG Programmer to join the team in Nanaimo , BC .
This will be a 6 month contract for a minimum of 30 working hours per month with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, you will prepare a detailed assessment of the AS400 environment, including recommendations for optimization and other improvements.
Additionally, you will be required to:
Develop small applications to automate routine tasks in JDE World for account management; and Develop payroll enhancements in a custom payroll application (Using a hybrid waterfall / agile development style).
To apply for this role, you will need expert experience in the management of an AS400 mini-computer plus demonstrable experience in AS400 optimization tasks.
You will have 5+ years of RPG programming experience with experience in DB2 and external connections to SQL Server.
Knowledge of Canadian payrolls is a must as is familiarity with JDE World.
