About the Opportunity
Western Forest
Products has an
exciting, full-time
position available for a
Senior Infrastructure
Support Analyst to join
the team in Nanaimo,
BC.
As the Senior
Infrastructure Support
Analyst, you will
report to the Manager
of Infrastructure, and
your main
responsibility will be to
monitor and maintain
the infrastructure. You
will recommend,
implement, and ensure
adherence to network,
security and hardware
configuration policies
and standards.
More specifically, you
will:
• Perform regularly
scheduled server
audits to ensure
conformance to
approved network
security and access
policies, procedures
and standards;
• Work with end users
to identify network
security and access
deficiencies;
• Deploy and regularly
monitor corporate
anti-virus software
including removing
viruses and spyware;
• Complete daily
backups on all
corporate servers, as
well as performing
regularly scheduled
restore tests of the
backup media;
• Monitor and test
network performance
and provide network
performance statistics
and reports;
• Recommend
improvements to the
network infrastructure
and assist with its
installation and
configuration;
• Provide desktop
support for WFP
Executives; and
• Travel to and support
of remote sites when
required.
To apply for this role,
you will need a post
secondary
diploma/degree in
Computer Science,
along with 5 years of
work experience in a
relevant field.
The successful
candidate will join us
with a strong
understanding of
Microsoft networking
and server
virtualization. You'll be
a good fit if you have
solid knowledge of
microcomputer
hardware and its
applications. You will
need an in-depth
knowledge of TCP-IP,
IPX-SPX, SMTP, WINS,
DHCP, DNS, RAS, DFS
and a detailed
understanding of Data
Communications
Networking,
troubleshooting and
diagnostics.
Project management
experience, excellent
written and oral
communication skills,
and proven analytical
and problem solving
will serve you well in
this role. Importantly,
you will have the
ability to work in a
collaborative team
environment, you are
able to uphold a high
degree of
confidentiality, and
you naturally have a
strong customer
service orientation.
About the Benefits
In return for all your
hard work, you will

remuneration package
of $85,000 - $90,000
(depending on
experience).
