My client - one of MontrĂ©al's top daycares' is currently hiring a full-time permanent Janitor / Handyman. ** MUST PASS POLICE AND CREDIT BACKGROUND CHECK ** TYPICAL HOURS: approx 11am to 7pm - 40 hours per week This position will perform cleaning functions, including cleaning classrooms/offices & washrooms, washing floors, cleaning sinks, polish floors, cleaning carpets and general housekeeping and Handyman duties Reporting to Executive Director Specific responsibilities -Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, stairways and other work areas. -Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures. -Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs. -Perform typical handyman work (repair shelves, locks, gates, tables, etc...) -Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies, using a vacuum cleaner. -Dust furniture and equipment. -Wash windows, walls, doors and ceilings. -Replenish bathroom supplies. -Replace light bulbs. -Empty trash cans and other waste containers. -Transport trash and waste to disposal area. -Abide by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals. -May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed. Skills -Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. -Must have and maintain a clean and valid driver's license. -Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. -Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. -Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition. -Ability to work well with others & independently. -Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail. -Works well under pressure. -Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
