Job Summary: As part of the Canadian team, you will hold a highly visible position within NetApp Canada and will be directly involved in the creation of a business that is critical to the country’s growth. You will be responsible for leveraging all the work in the USA and Globally to develop and execute a Canadian focused Cloud / Service Provider program. The Cloud is a fast growing segment that has the potential to dramatically change the way in which IT customers acquire technology. In order to respond to this change, NetApp is executing a go-to-market strategy that requires the development of an ecosystem of service provider partners that will bring NetApp technology as a service to our customers. This position will be responsible for developing Cloud provider sales opportunities that result in NetApp’s technology being designed into the service offerings of some of the largest service providers in the industry as well as a class of emerging service providers poised to transform the industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of this multi dimensional go to market strategy which leverages all the elements of the US program tailored to the Canadian marketplace. You must be able to work with sales teams to identify and qualify potential service providers as well as the partner’s product management, marketing, product development, sales and management teams to have NetApp technology designed into the services they create. You must have the leadership skills and presence required to manage CXO interactions. In addition to driving OEM-like design wins, you will develop joint go-to-market channels with the Cloud provider to effectively sell services to our mutual customers. You will need to ruthlessly qualify your time and focus a large part of your effort on the TOP 5 Design Win opportunities in Canada so we win the biggest and most strategic opportunities across the country. The solutions you will develop will bring together all of the value of NetApp into a consolidated offering for these service providers. You must be able to work with all facets of NetApp to bring the solution together: local sales teams, finance, product business units, legal, service and support, and go-to-market teams. You will act as the business leader for these new relationships and will be responsible for their overall success. Essential Functions: Key Job Performance Objectives • Identify and Rank potential A, B and C level Service Providers (SP) • Identify and qualify the Top 5 Design-Win opportunities and develop and execute the sell-in strategy for targeted Cloud / SP partners a. Achieve management defined “Milestones” to convert opportunities into design “wins” for sales teams b. Manage pipeline of design opportunities in selected accounts c. Integrate sell-with and GTM strategy into district sales plans d. Work with a cross-functional sales, technical and marketing team that brings together all of the resources of NetApp to deliver to the service provider the technical and business solutions they require • Develop and execute go-to-market plans with the Top Service Provider prospects to ensure that NetApp technology is pulled-through using all available pathways to market • Create best practices for Public Cloud design-wins • Present NetApp Cloud Strategy and offerings to customers, partners and industry • Represent NetApp at seminars and trade shows • Assist in training local sales teams on NetApp Cloud strategy and offerings • Work with a broad array of senior executives in both NetApp and our partners to establish a long-term relationship between the companies • Work with the Canadian leadership team around a “National Focus” to the Cloud / Service Provider program while helping the teams work multi district opportunities Responsibility and Interaction: Responsibility: - As a seasoned professional with a wide range of experiences, this individual uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. - Is responsible for a specific geographical install base and large, complex, high visibility, strategic, or tactically important accounts. Interaction: - This individual effectively works with, and influences senior internal personnel within the function, employees in other functions that support the sales effort, and has direct customer contact. - Limited management supervision and direction is provided since this individual operates and drives results independently. - The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert and strongly influences sales team decisions and initiatives. May also act as a team leader and major decision maker for team projects. Education & Experience: - 8 to 12 years of experience is desired. - A University degree is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred. - Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required. - Specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth. Requirements: - Excellent verbal and written communications skills; presentation, customer service, business and negotiation skills. - Ability to travel within assigned region, working closely with District Managers, Sales Representatives, and channel partners.
