ZIGZAG Marketing provides training programs and coaching services for product management and product marketing professionals using a LEARN BY DOING approach. Our training focuses on the HOW TO aspect of doing the job while providing enough theory to support our EXECUTION-ORIENTED approach. Our "how-to" methods help organizations achieve and sustain market leadership through the following objectives.
Creating products that address the "top-of-mind" challenges of target customers
Accelerating time-to-market through cross-functional synchronization
Communicating value through unique product differentiation
Managing The Businesses Within The Business
ZIGZAG Marketing views each product as a business within the business. To that end our training workshops teach product managers and marketing managers the skills and tactics necessary to run a portfolio of profitable businesses that collectively drive the organization to a market leadership position.
At an execution level, ZIGZAG Marketing approaches product management and product marketing as a sequence of steps and tasks that must be planned and executed in a synchronized fashion across the organization to achieve shorter time-to-market cycles and market-driven products. Our training workshops not only teach your team how to manage cross-organizational dependencies but also provide a multi-dimensional perspective on the functions of product management and product marketing by incorporating the elements of what, how, and when into the process.
Thriving In An Unpredictable Market
With the technology sector at its most volatile point in history, high-tech companies must get back to basics—focus on target markets, deliver quality products, and provide measurable benefit to customers. Marketing in this environment requires focus, discipline, and coordination. ZIGZAG Marketing's training workshops deliver the structure, methods, and expertise to help your company prosper in a volatile market.
Our Founder
John Mansour founded ZIGZAG Marketing, Inc. in 2001 following a 15 year career in both blue-chip and start-up technology companies.
Prior to starting ZIGZAG Marketing John was Vice President of Marketing for eMongoose, Inc., a technology start-up featuring application server development tools for the Microsoft technology platform. Mansour is credited with marketing efforts that helped ramp the company to $2 million in first year revenues while defining the 3-year business plan and product strategy.
Prior to eMongoose, John Mansour joined Frontstep (formerly Symix Systems) as Director of Product Marketing to lead efforts for Frontstep's new E-business and Supply Chain Management Division. Mansour is credited with building the marketing team and implementing a process methodology for the division's product management and development teams to use in building and launching its new e-business applications. Mansour and his team of nine brought an entire suite of ERP, supply chain, and customer facing E-business applications to market in less than two years. John and his team staged a two day product launch in conjunction with Nike and Microsoft where they presented to over 40 press and analyst members at Nike headquarters and delivered the keynote presentation at Microsoft's DNA product launch to an audience of more than 300 people. Frontstep is a $130 million provider of enterprise supply chain applications for mid market manufacturers and distributors.
John Mansour began his technology career with Dun & Bradstreet Software in the mid 1980's in pre-sales and then went on to become a product manager where he took six new applications to market in less than four years. Known for his great relationship with product development and the field, Mansour went on to become Director of Global Product & Industry Marketing where he had worldwide responsibility for product management, industry marketing, direct marketing, and product marketing, managing a team of 25. In John's tenure as a Director, he built a single worldwide marketing organization and spearheaded D & B's Euro-currency and industry marketing initiatives for healthcare and business services. D & B Software, a $550 million corporation, marketed enterprise financials, procurement, and human resource applications.
