Builders Watch IMS, by HomeNet - is a New Crime Prevention Tool for New Home Builders and Construction AssociationsNow available, Builders Watch IMS, a joint initiative between Failsafe Canada and the Calgary City Police Service, has been launched to enhance and support innovative ways of combating vandalism, theft and damage to new home developments throughout the country. Builders are signing on! The web based project provides an important new and powerful tool in the ongoing fight against crime in any city's new home development areas. The system is designed to track, maintain and report on any damage, vandalism or theft at these sites.GPS and RFID applications are also being integrated. Cst. Mark Dumont, the Calgary Police Service's Builders Watch liaison officer says, "As new home sales and commercial developments boom in Calgary, theft and damage at these sites is increasing dramatically." The Builders Watch Portal will make tracking and analysis measurably more effective by making it easier for builders to report crimes and criminal activities that may otherwise go unreported. The Builders Watch Portal uses 'drill-down' Intelligence to deliver data on crime trends and patterns. It complements current CPS reporting requirements. The Builders Watch Portal is a free tool for New Home Builders and Construction Associations. Brad Henderson, Failsafe's V.P. Sales & Marketing and a Builders Watch Committee board member, says, "The Builders Watch application has allowed us to put into action a plan that will not only significantly increase damage and loss reporting, but dramatically increase information sharing and the capability for neighborhoods and builders to stay in touch." The introduction of the Builders Watch Portal will lead to an increase in reporting of crime at building sites, leading to more information being gained, improved data collection and ultimately, more efficient crime trend reports. This leading-edge technology, developed by Failsafe Canada as part of the HomeNet Suite of services, is 'a free service' to home builders. The Builders Watch Portal maintains important database information and allows builders to develop their own crime prevention programs. It aids in connecting new home builders with their Police Service and local communities by providing crime prevention information online and encouraging active participation. The software incorporates an easy registration form for new members, along with a customized data entry form that includes all the necessary information about the loss or damage that the new home builder is reporting. Benefits of the Builders Watch Portal include: The Builders Watch IMS program, ( Incident Managemnt System ) is jointly sponsored by Failsafe Canada and the Calgary Police Service. It tracks and analyzes trends and patterns in new home property crime and reports back to the building community and to police resources so that crime prevention programs can be put into effect.
