Eyeball Networks Develops Anti-SPIT Server

http://www.eyeball.com

Vancouver, BC, September 21, 2005--(T-Net)--Eyeball Networks announced its patent-pending Anti-SPIT server.
With Eyeball?s Anti-SPIT server, service providers can offer VoIP, video telephony and collaborative services across their subscriber base while preventing VoIP spam, unsolicited calls, unwanted telemarketing and illicit content at both the network and subscriber levels.

Chris Piché, CEO of Eyeball Networks noted that, ?Service providers and their subscribers face the threat of widespread VoIP spam, unwanted content, automated telemarketing calls and harassment. These may come in the form of bulk calls, spam bots, untimely calls from strangers, indecent content and privacy invasions. As the market for voice over IP continues to grow, the opportunity to exploit the open-standards nature of VoIP service cannot be ignored. A single telemarketer, for example, operating a single server can send out 1 million unwanted voice messages as easily as sending just one. Without Eyeball?s complete SPIT protection, at the network and endpoints, every VoIP deployment is at risk.?

According to Dr. Shahadat Khan, CTO of Eyeball Networks, ?VoIP spam can drive away business customers, residential subscribers, and diminish service provider revenue and brand equity. Eyeball?s Anti-SPIT server stops VoIP spam before it reaches its intended targets, while also providing every subscriber with intuitive controls to establish their own call filters, parental controls and other personalized settings. ?

Features of Eyeball?s Anti-SPIT server include caller ID authentication, unique callee limits, dynamic caller monitoring and VoIP spam filtering algorithms, dynamic call frequency limits, automated abuse reports and SPIT ratings, which dynamically determine the validity of a call. Parental controls are also included. These can be based on call duration, time of day, location, content, and both user-specific and service-wide whitelists and blacklists.
