Plaintree Systems reports widening of fiscal third-quarter loss

OTTAWA (CP) - Plaintree Systems Inc. saw its losses widen in its fiscal third quarter as revenues dropped.

The Ottawa-based wireless equipment maker said it lost $390,863 - amounting to no earnings per share - for the three-month period ended Dec. 31, compared to a loss of $223,680, or no cents per share, in the same year-earlier quarter.

Total quarterly revenue was about $288,000, down from about $350,000 in the third quarter of the previous year.

Plaintree (TSX:LAN; OTCBB:LANPF) develops and makes wireless products that help provide high-speed network connections for Internet Service Providers, traditional telephone companies, cellphone operators, airports and campus networks.

The company's shares (TSX:LAN; OTCBB:LANPF) closed off even at 13 cents Monday.
