BabelFish Appoints New Management

BabelFish, which recently moved headquarters to Ottawa, Canada, to firmly ensconce the company in Eastern Canada announced a number of new management appointments designed to strengthen the company as it embarks on this new plateau of market dominance. Gonzalo Peralta has been appointed as VP Language Training. Mr. Peralta comes to BabelFish after 20 years with Living Language Services Inc., a company started by his family in 1980. Mr. Peralta is well known in the Ottawa area. He was instrumental in creating new and innovative programs in both language training and translation, including collaborations with Language Training Canada to deliver full-time French language training to federal government employees, the development of the English language program at Statistics Canada, and the development and implementation of translation courses in five languages for federal employees.

Graham R. Pincott has been appointed as VP Operations after having spent five years as Comptroller with Living Language Services Inc. Mr. Pincott’s financial and operational knowledge has directed the company to move to a more activity-based costing system, identifying strengths and challenges within the LLS organization. He has been responsible for continuous improvement of financial & physical operations resulting in applied efficiencies to all levels within the LLS. Mr. Pincott had also provided training and orientation for new employees on operational procedures and effective use of company resources. He brings a unique expertise and focus to the position of VP operations within BabelFish. His experience and exposure to the unique needs of a language company, brings valuable intellectual property to the BabelFish executive.

Chris Boudreau has been appointed VP of Localization. Mr. Boudreau began his career in the language industry with Nortel Networks in Early 90’s. During his tenure with Nortel, as a Globalization specialist, he was responsible for investigating, implementing and optimizing tools and processes for Localized content. He is a co-inventor of a patent application for “Method and apparatus for Integrated and Automated Language Translation”. Mr. Boudreau brings a diverse skill set having been both a consumer and provider of multilingual services. From 2000 - 2002 he worked with large Enterprise development groups and with Multilingual Vendors (MLV) in providing research, process development and Business development services. In March 2002 he created ARVISE Technologies so that he could take his industry knowledge and focus on Language technology R&D.

Jose Ferreyro has been named VP Sales. During his 16 years in sales and marketing, Mr. Ferreyro has worked extensively with ALIS, an international globalization company, where he assisted in the development of major Canadian corporate accounts. Mr. Ferreyro has successfully started the sales operation in new regions for high-tech companies in North and Latin America. He has recently managed the sales operation for a human and machine translation company in Western Canada, USA and Mexico.

Prior to coming to Canada, he was in charge of the operation of Oryon Software Inc. in Latin America partnering with software companies from Canada, France, UK and USA.

Born in Argentina, Mr. Ferreyro obtained his University degree in Computer Science and Statistics, is a passionate for languages and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
