Laurie Schultz Named CEO of ACL
VANCOUVER – September 6, 2012 – ACL, the technology company that is transforming audit and risk management, today announced that the company’s President and former Sage executive Laurie Schultz has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Schultz, who joined ACL in August 2011, has led the company to double-digit revenue growth and recruited a seasoned leadership team. Harald Will, who established ACL’s commercial operations 25 years ago, becomes Executive Chair of the board and will continue to support Schultz and the management team on strategy.
“Laurie has the proven ability to grow revenues and profits, and her background with multiple software categories and geographies will be instrumental as ACL continues to drive the transformation of the audit and risk software markets,” said Will. “Over the past year, Laurie has made a strong impact on ACL through the reinvestment in our core product portfolio, the launch of our cloud-based audit management solution and expansion into risk management, as well as enhancing ACL’s position as an employer of choice. I am very pleased with this planned transition and confident in our plans to maintain our #1 share position within Internal Audit while leveraging our large customer base and growing portfolio to significantly expand our footprint into the broader risk and compliance markets.”
Schultz has more than 20 years of experience in the software and technology sectors, including more than a dozen years in leadership roles targeting segments such as personal finance, small business accounting, and mid-market ERP solutions. Prior to joining ACL, Schultz was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sage North America’s mid-market ERP portfolio and Vice President of Intuit Canada’s Small Business Division.
“I am thankful for the confidence that Harald and the board have in my abilities to build on his legacy and extend his vision,” Schultz said. “With the support of ACL’s executive team, I look forward to strengthening the company’s established reputation for developing and advocating technology that expands the horizons of audit and risk management.”
Schultz was recently recognized by CRN magazine as one of the Top 100 Women in the North American Channel. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alberta. She serves on the boards of directors of Dress for Success Vancouver and the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
